9th graders please check the updated IOWA testing rosters in the hallways. Some students have been moved around. PLEASE be sure you know where you are testing – if you do not see your name please check with the Counselor’s Office.

3/3 basketball tournament has been postponed to the will of April 14.

Starting Monday, March 31 parking will be limited in the parking lot next to the gym. Students you may park in the gravel lot by the Fieldhouse or the baseball/softball parking lot. Do not park in the overflow lot

Students this is a reminder about PDA (Public Display of Affection) ~ there should be NO hugging, kissing, arms around each other etc. Handholding is considered an acceptable display of affection. See page 53 of your student handbook. NO EXCEPTIONS! Consequences will be enforced

Students wanting to get their driving permit paper please notify the office two days in advance to see if you qualify. Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA (for semester) and must not owe any fees or fines.

We also need group pictures of you and fellow students from kindergarten through high school. Please look through your pictures during Spring Break. Pictures are due Tuesday, April 15th

Senior Girls interested in attending a Sorority Recruitment Workshop in Little Rock on Sunday April 6th need to check out the flyer on the bulletin board outside the Counselor’s Office.

Seniors we have a new scholarship: Leadership Saline County $500 Scholarship Application, which shall be awarded to a 2014 Graduating Bauxite Senior. Deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, April 18th, 2014.

Juniors and seniors – Ms. Smart needs your email address if you would like information sent to you on hundreds of scholarships with deadlines into 2015. Come by the counselor’s office and give us your active email address.

First Electric Cooperative will select three area students to participate in the Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington DC. Any high school junior whose parents or guardians are members of First Electric are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the Counselor’s Office.

Juniors interested in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Conservation Institute please come by and pick up a brochure outlining the program. Deadline to apply is April 30th.

Seniors: Just a reminder, in order to have your college day visit be excused you must submit your permission slip to the office TWO days prior of your visit. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence.

Curbside Couture – April 27, 2014 – is a unique opportunity for students to showcase and sell their own creations at a gala fashion show presented at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. If interested pick up information in the Counselor’s Office.

18 Year Old Males – If you are a male and 18 years of age, it is your legal obligation to register with Selective Service. Registration applies to virtually all men living in the U.S., including immigrants, no matter their status.

Registration is quick and easy. Even though you MUST register at 18 years old, you may submit your information as early as 7 years and 3 months. You can register with the Selective Service on-line at www.sss.gov or any post office.
